León, Spain
Well, now we are finally getting some answers! Today when I went to school I got a new schedule, without French. I explained to them that eventually I need to teach English so it would probably be best if I were put in a few English classes so now I have five classes of English each week along with several Spanish classes and many others like Math, Science, etc. I think they are mostly just sticking me wherever they can find a willing teacher. I (all of the student teachers in the school) have a meeting with the director tomorrow at 12:15 about what we are supposed to be doing. I hope that clears a lot of stuff up for me! Also, after school today I was finally able to open my email (but not do anything else!) and I found out that I had a meeting with Jose (the guy in the Education department) in just a few hours. That was a very interesting meeting. I found out that he will be coming to observe me two times in April and also he recommended that I take an advanced Spanish course. It will probably cost me about 100 euros but I think it would be good to do. I am going tomorrow to talk to the teacher. Also I found out that I need to go to the International Relations building with my passport and heath insurance tomorrow morning before school (and probably be late) so that they can officially accept me in the school and then I need to go to the Education office to enroll in actual classes. Jose also wants me to take some other courses offered in the education department but most of them are offered during the day while I am at the high school. Oh well. I was going to go to the movies again today with Rita but that didn’t work out. I really was looking forward to going, maybe I can go again tomorrow. Well, I guess that is all for today, I really hope it warms up tomorrow like it is supposed to, I’m getting sick of this cold!
